Have you heard the story of the boy and the starfish?

A boy went to the beach one morning. He saw how the waves of the ocean lapped at the shore. 

He found himself admiring the beauty of the water against the sand.

As he continued to walk along the beach he noticed a starfish had been washed up on the shore and was just laying there helpless and being dried up by the sun.

The boy decided to do something about this and so picked up the starfish and threw it back into the ocean. 

A minute later he saw another starfish in the same predicament and again picked it up and threw it back into the ocean.

This continued, with every crash of the waves against the shore more and more starfish were washed up and drying out in the sun.

The Boy didn't give up though. He continued to pick up the starfish and throw them back into the ocean to save them.

Some time passed and the boy had still not given up.

The boys father eventually walked over to where he was still gathering up the starfish and saving them.

The father said son 'you know you don't have to do that you can never save them all no matter how hard you try'.

The son looked up at the father with a smile on his face, he picked up another starfish, threw it into the ocean stating 'I might not be able to save them all dad, but I made a difference to that ones life'.

Sure its hard to make a difference in the world we live in but even the smallest action can make a massive difference in the lives of others. If no one tried to make a difference then change would never happen.
